Part 4. Allow students time in front of a keyboard or piano to begin brainstorming for melodic ideas. Each student should have at least 30 minutes in front of the keyboard.
Part 5. How to capture your melodic ideas?
1. electronic – iPhone, iPad or similar devices that can record
2. handwriting – buy a music journal/manuscript paper. Write down any ideas as they come to
mind.
The emphasis to use a sound capturing device. For the students that prefer to write down their ideas on a staff can do so as well.
Part 6. ASSIGNMENT 2: Submit, via e-mail a journal reflection of at least 300 words on your melody capturing experience.
